KEMPER registers robust results for 2009

Björn Kemper - chief executive

KEMPER GmbH, a plant engineering company that specializes in the metal fabrication sector, achieved robust financial results last year despite a daunting market environment. This outstanding performance was attributable in large measure to strong mailorder sales and a substantial upturn in orders during Q4. “We were of course also affected by last year’s economic crisis. Our excellent results following the Schweißen & Schneiden trade show last fall, as well as a strong start this year, give us reason to be optimistic for the future,” says KEMPER chief executive Björn Kemper.

KEMPER is anticipating continued sales growth for the current year. “We’ve noticed that numerous projects that were put on hold due to the poor state of the economy last year are now being reactivated,” says Mr. Kemper, who is particularly pleased and encouraged by the tremendous interest in and growing demand for the company’s new products. “We put a huge amount of effort into new product development last year and also launched these products. These efforts are now paying off,” notes Mr. Kemper.

Noteworthy in this regard are the company’s innovative solar energy solutions. Last spring, KEMPER launched its KemTrack solar module tracking system, which determines the exact position of the sun via its location, date and time, thus allowing for optimal solar module alignment. An order for 60 tracking systems was placed for a solar park in South Hesse, and numerous additional projects are in the pipeline. KEMPER plans to achieve considerable market share growth in this new segment.

The company is also expecting a surge in sales for its cutting and welding solutions – which is the company’s core businesses. In this segment as well, KEMPER last year developed a host of innovative products such as the Autoflow XP, a portable respiratory protection system. This solution integrates a powerful fan, but is very lightweight and compact – thus allowing for cutting, welding and grinding in confined spaces and other problematic situations.

This year, as in 2009, KEMPER will be present at the following trade shows (among others): Essen Welding India 2010 in Mumbai in February; Beijing Essen Welding & Cutting in Beijing in May; and EuroBLECH in Hannover, Germany in October.
